Livia is 4 pounds today! A huge milestone for her! We are so excited she is growing so fast and getting stronger each day. She needs to get her "brown fat" in order to stay warm and we'll be outta here! Can't wait to get our little lady home so we can love on her and she can be part of our family. Thanks for your continued prayers. She is doing so well because so many have prayed for her and continue to pray for her.
Honestly, all the nurses and doctors just "can't believe" she is doing so well. Some say they've never seen a 32-weeker behave so strong. No spells, perfect reports every day, gaining weight every day! Most babies her age forget to breathe, have abnormal heart rates, don't gain weight as quickly, etc. Not Livie! I tell them it's because she is prayed for. She has a whole army of people bringing her before Jesus each day and I am truly amazed at the power of prayer. What a testimony she is already, not even a month old! God has great things in store for this little one.
I can't wait to see it all unfold.
I have different people visit me from time to time as I have been here every day for 2 weeks now. Sometimes it's the nurse who did all our non stress tests, sometimes it's my labor and delivery nurse, other times my post-partum nurse. Everybody is always so amazed at how prepared we were for such a birth. They can't believe how many details we had worked out ahead of time.
Shortly after we found out about Mia, a family friend passed on the name of a ministry that has proven to be one of the most valuable resources to get us through this time. Laura, from String of Pearls has supported me, encouraged me and walked through this with me from the time we discovered Mia's passing. She has given advice when needed, helped to prepare a birth plan and prayed diligently for me and my family. She sent me a beautiful box with creative ways to remember Mia. I would never have thought about preserving memories if not for this ministry and I am so thankful we have the memories we do! Mia's life will always be remembered and now we have tangible memories to carry with us forever. I am so thankful for Laura and the ministry she has to parents who walk this difficult path. We never would have been prepared in this way without her encouragement and advice. Saying hello and goodbye in one breath is a difficult challenge to embrace, but we know that the preparation we put into it will give us sweet memories we can cherish forever.
Thanks Laura, I feel like we've been friends a long time, even though we've never met face to face!
