So I have exactly three weeks to bake, frost and assemble my very first wedding cake. That's right. I'm making a wedding cake for these cute kids

I don't know what came over me. They said they were on a tight budget and they needed to find somebody to make a wedding cake that didn't cost $600. I mean seriously, $600? Wedding cakes are so ridiculous these days. If this cake turns out and I don't kill myself in the process, I may have just found a new career to get Chris through the rest of his PhD program. There is some serious money to be made here!
But really (I don't want to bake cakes for a living), I wanted to help these guys out and this is one way I know I can. It might not be perfect, but it will be made with love, patience and lots of butter!
Today I began the long process and I hope to update here when I have the time. Hopefully this will be a fun experience that I can look back on fondly (though Chris is already starting to think I might love this cake more than I love him).
Stay tuned!

Amen! There is LOTS of money to be made in the wedding industry! If you can do cakes, I think us Stroup girls have one awesome wedding business to go into togther! You do cakes, Ashley do floral and decor and I do planning! I am telling you, it would be so fun!
I AM SOOOO EXCITED!! (pardon the caps)
