A visit from "Auntie" Corrie

Chris spent the past week in Oxford, England while I stayed at home and held down the fort. My best friend Corrie came to town to keep me company and help care for the kids. She also spent the night with the kids over the weekend so I could go to a conference. It was a much needed break for me and I am so thankful she was able to be here!


Micah has started calling her Auntie Corrie. She is like a sister to me in many ways, so I guess that is appropriate!

Several Micah sayings worth noting this week:

As Corrie and Micah were walking down the street a firetruck comes racing by and Micah notices there is a car in the way, he shouts from the top of his lungs. . . . .MOVE!!!!

Corrie thought it would be a good idea to give Micah some prune juice to get things moving. After a few sips he goes: "Auntie Corrie, this is not good!" "Orange juice is for drinking, this is for cooking!" "This is NOT good!"

Corrie took Micah to the local movie rental shop - convenience store and as she was looking at movies he discovered a cat. He reaches down to pet the cat and he lashes out and grabs onto Micah's sweatpants. As he is hanging from Micah's sweat pants hissing Micah begins to cry out. Corrie runs over and attempts to pry the cat's paws off of his sweatpants. It is no use. They must remove the pants to get the cat off (this is all happening in the basement while the owner is upstairs). They finally get the cat off and put his pants back on. They start to go back upstairs and Micah shouts out to the owner (and everybody else in the store) "THERE'S A CAT DOWN THERE!" He then proceeds to tell each and every person going down the stairs that there is a CAT DOWN THERE!
