This past September Micah was snapped by a mouse trap on his thumb which resulted in a small bump (kind of like a cyst) on his left thumb/knuckle (you can see it in this picture if you look closely). I thought nothing of it for a few months but then realized his bump wasn't going away. After bringing it up at his 18 month check up the doctor recommended we see a hand surgeon just to rule out any issues. Turns out Micah had an "unusual response" to the trauma and needs to have this thing surgically removed! After two opinions and a lot of thought and prayer we decided to go through with the surgery. The main reason being that they would like to test the mass and see if there is anything to be concerned about (which they are 95% sure there is nothing to be concerned about!).
So, we are off to Children's Hospital tomorrow for Micah's first surgery. I'm trying to stay calm and keep the worrying to a minimum, but I would covet your prayers as I am still a nervous mommy! We will update the blog tomorrow after the surgery to let you know how things went. Thanks for your prayers!
